Our Services
All Breed Basic Obedience
6-8 Weeks ( Board and train, or in home sessions)
In this program, your pup will learn basic obedience commands, including sit, here, heel, place, and kennel. Training also covers leash walking and collar conditioning. Beyond commands, we teach good manners for both home and social settings.
Basic Gun Dog
4-6 Months
Starting with basic obedience and conditioning, this program progresses to teaching your pup a formal retrieve and proper bird handling while avoiding bad habits. Dogs will learn basic marking skills and establish a hunting pattern. We also expose them to hunting scenarios like stands, blinds, gunfire, and decoys.
Advanced Gun Dog
8-12 Months
Building on the Basic Gun Dog program, this advanced training covers handling and running blinds, complex marking, hunting patterns for challenging retrieves, and smoothly managing multiple birds.
About Us
Hi everybody, my name is Drake Daughtry founder and head trainer of First N’ Flight Retrievers. A little bit about myself I grew up in eastern North Carolina where I developed two passions waterfowl hunting and Labrador Retrievers. Diving into the retriever training world I felt right at home as it allowed me to make a career out of both of my passions. I’ve spent several years working for various kennels and training with many other experienced individuals to learn the right methods and even seeing the wrong methods to ensure that I as a professional can give each dog a fair shake, and produce the best result for my clients. It means a lot to me to get an understanding of the personality and temperament with each student I have and to build a relationship with each of them just as if they were my own.
